Don has offered real-time Skype and FaceTime lessons for the past many years. Depending on you situation, that still might work out to be your best option if you’d like to be one of Don’s guitar students.

In many cases, though, issues like life, work and study schedules make meeting at a specific time difficult, especially across time zones. Then there are issues with internet connection speeds, different kinds of technologies (phones, PCs, tablets, etc) that can sometimes make connection quality problematic.

Don now offers the possibility of personalized, custom-for-you video guitar lessons to deal with specific questions you have, techniques you’d like to master, and pieces you’d like to learn. It works like this:

You decide what you’d like to tackle. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn a specific tune from Don’s repertoire. Maybe you’re part way through a favourite tune and you’re having a hard time getting around a particular section or technique. Maybe there’s a musical concept (theory or harmony, improvisation or composition) that has left you scratching your head and wishing someone would help make things clearer and more accessible. All you need to do is send an email with your question, or upload a video of your playing where you feel you need coaching.

Within a few days, Don responds with a personalized video lesson, sent as an unlisted YouTube video, catered to you and your questions and skill level. Each lesson that you receive will cover as much material as you would likely cover in a regular live one-hour lesson. The advantage is that you can watch the lesson as often as you like, and use newer YouTube functions like the ability to slow video down

while maintaining the same pitch.

The regular price per lesson (one hour live online or per YouTube video lesson) is $75 USD, but Don is offering a special price of FIVE LESSONS FOR ONLY $300 USD if you pre-pay. That’s $60 USD per lesson, or the equivalent of one of the 5 lessons free!

Don has 30 years’ experience as a professional touring musician, as well as a degree in Music Composition from York University in Toronto and experience as a music professor at the university level. He takes pride in working with students of many different skill and experience levels with the goal of making music and guitar playing more understandable. Students with an interest in developing their harmonic and theoretical knowledge do so with immediate practical, hands-on examples, so that the concepts don’t remain mysterious,

but are immediately apparent on the guitar.
